Samba Olywa (based in OLYmpia, WAshington) is an amateur percussion and dance group dedicated to building community through the learning and sharing of Samba and other rhythms. We provide the opportunity for anyone, regardless of experience, to join us as we take our spirited and joyous energy to the streets and to the stage.

We rehearse most Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Eagles Grand Ballroom, 4th & Plum Streets in Olympia.
All are welcome to drum or dance, regardless of prior experience. We provide instruments too!
We ask a $5 donation per week to help cover our expenses, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Samba Olywa is proud to announce a grant award has been approved from Inspire Olympia. This is the money from the Cultural Access 1/10 of 1% that was voted last year. Funds are used for Arts, Culture, Heritage, and Science. We thank the City of Olympia for the grant which will be used to help us grow in many ways. Samba Olywa is always open to all members of the community regardless of race, religion, gender orientation, or financial means. Please share the news as one of our goals is to increase membership!!
